TWISTMIRROR FAQ’s

1. Does the suction pad hold everywhere?

The suction pad holds thanks to the air space. It is essential to attach it on a smooth and especially tight surface. A mirror or on glass is the best surface. But it will also work on smooth tile, marble, laminate, plastic or enamel.

2. How long does the suction pad hold in place?

No suction pad holds forever. Temperature variations will remove the pressure with time, and you may have to reaffix it.

3. Why doesn't my suction pad hold any more?

If your suction pad does not work as well over time, wet the suction pad slightly. You may also wash the suction pad with water and soap so that the rubber adheres well to the surface. Check to make sure the surface does not have apparent dirt or cracks. Attach the suction pad to a window. Open the window and look at the appearance of the suction pad. The suction pad is good if it forms a complete circle without interruption on the pane. If not, then it is your surface that is not smooth enough.

If the suction pad develops a crack, it can be repaired by using heat on it for approximately 1-2 minutes. The suction pad will be reformed and you can check if it by repeating attaching to a window.

4. Is it easy to attach the TWISTMIRROR and to remove it?

The TWISTMIRROR can be attached and removed in 1 second.   Put the suction pad on a smooth surface and seal, supporting slightly to create pressure, then turn clockwise a fifth of turn. To remove it, turn in the opposite direction (5th of turn) then pull slightly on the strip and the suction pad comes off. Never force by tearing it off!

5. Will the rubber of the suction pad deteriorate with time?

No. To maintain it, simply wash it with water and soap so that the rubber adheres well to the surface.

6. Can one remove and reattach the suction pad as long as one wants?

Yes. The materials of the TWISTMIRROR are of very good quality and are made to last over the years.

7. Can the mirror break?

The mirror is made out of polycarbonate. It is 15 times more break resistant than a mirror made of glass. However, you should avoid intentionally dropping it.

8. How do I clean the TWISTMIRROR?

Clean it like you would a traditional mirror, with a product made to clean glass and a soft cloth. Never use an abrasive cleaner.

9. When I look in the magnifying mirror it is fuzzy and that gives me a headache!

That is normal if you are too far from the mirror. A magnifying mirror is concave. It forms a parabola, so it is necessary to find your individual focal point to see clearly.

10. Will the TWISTMIRROR plastic wear with time?

No. The materials are of high quality and do not wear. If the joints become loose, simply clean them with alcohol to remove grime. (NEVER use acetone.) They will resume their rigidity. Like any apparatus, never force it.

11. When I extend the mirror horizontally the mirror head won't stay in position. It just flops down.

The mirror is attached to the telescoping arm with a ball and socket joint.   If you point the socket straight up the mirror cannot flop down as the short neck in between the ball and the mirror will be retained in the notch cut out on the side of the socket.
